A small ornambental shrub with thin branches, light green oval leaves and tubular flowers with a pale spotted throat that grows to one metre. However cultivars are available in a variety of forms with flower colours in pink, mauve, red, orange or yellow. The low growing mounding forms can be used for weed suppression. This plant prefers full sun and will tolerate extended dry periods once established.
